Windows PC
A minimum of a Pentium II /200 MHz with 64 MB RAM or higher is recommended. 4X CD ROM, 100% compatible Soundblaster 16 Sound Card, Headset or speakers, compatible microphone, 30 MB of free hard drive space Windows 98, 2000 or XP. Note that the system runs off the CD-ROM and leaves no files on the computer.

Macintosh
A minimum of a G3 at 233 MHz with 32 MB RAM, 4X CD ROM, Headset or speakers, compatible microphone, 30 MB of free hard drive space. Macintosh O/S 8.1 or higher or OS/X.

Either system requires compatible Speaker or Headphones plus a microphone. An external microphone will usually provide better voice recording than a microphone built into the computer or monitor. Headphones should have an adjustable volume control. Make sure it is set properly. If your microphone has a mute or On/Off switch make sure it is on.

Video Requirements
Your computer must have Quicktime T version 6.4 or higher to play the video. We supply version 6.4 on every CD if needed. The Quicktime installer is found on all EASY CDs in the QT folder. You may also download the latest version of Quicktime from http://www.apple.com. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card AND for your sound card. If the video is out of sync with the audio you may need to reload your sound card drivers.

EASY ESL Online
If you are using the online version of EASY - EASY ESL Online - you MUST have a broadband connection to the Internet. This means either a T1 feed, cable or DSL link. Compatible Browsers are: Internet Explorer version 6 or Safari on O/S X. EASY ESL Online uses Quicktime Version 7 and this requires either Windows 2000 or XP or MAC O/S X.

Network Specifications
You must place a specific order for the network version of EASY English Academic Success for You^TM. The network version will run from a server to mapped workstations.

Networks Configurations supported are:

Server: Server with fast SCSI hard drive, 100 Mbps NIC, about 6 GB hard drive space, 10/100 switches or switching hubs, Category 5 cable. Novell, W2000/2003, MAC OS/X operating systems are supported.

Client Stations: 10/100 Mb network card, Windows 98, 2000 or XP or MAC OS 8.5 or higher, or OS/X. If you use Novell on the server you must use Novell Client for Windows.
